| I left Lairg this morning in drizzly rain and headed for Loch Naver,
the countryside was very open and covered in heather. I passed through some big managed
pine forests as the road snaked its way across the landscape. It
was here that I startled a herd of deer and they bounded away from me across the field. I
kep on passing cyclists laden down with stuff going in the other direction to me, do they
    know something I dont !!!!
 I
passed Ben Klibreck which is a 3157 foot mountain, it had its summit covered in
heavy clouds. I got to Loch Naver and followed the road around its edge. The water
was dead calm with hardly anything breaking its mirror like surface. The water
reflected the images of the hilly surrounds beautifully.
I then cycled by the river Naver it was here that I passed the magic 1000 mile mark
of my travels. The road gently rolled along till I reached Betty Hill.
 This
was a short days ride which leaves me about 55 miles to go till I reach John
OGroats. So I went and sat on the beach and enjoyed the sunshine that had eventually
    come out.
