I left Morecambe and Eric behind me and headed of towards Kendall. From here every thing is up, it’s surprising how flat the area around Blackpool and Morecambe is. Today I didn’t feel brilliant, as I knew that I had a mountain to cycle up to get to Brampton. It was a real struggle to get to Kendall when I did I had a quick look around. It is a very nice town and no I didn’t buy any cake. Then onto the bit of the day I was dreading, cycling over Shap Fells on the edge of the Lake District. As I got going it wasn’t to bad, just a steady climb for a long distance and before I realized it I was at the top. The view was hindered by the low laying clouds, but looking across from the top I could see where the clouds had been broken by the mountains the sun shining through. Then with Shap Fell out of the way I felt in top form and sped to Brampton just brushing the outskirts of the Pennines.

See you tomorrow
Steve (Still on a bike)
